My why...

A glimpse into my story..

Hello,

This is Fighting Trim Fitness CEO Jajuan Blankenship, and I am from Anderson, SC. I am former Division 1 Football player with experience in Junior College and Division 2 as well. After starting four years at T.L. Hanna High School I began my college career at University Of South Carolina. While at University of South Carolina, I was Defensive Co-Scout Team player of the year in my true freshman season in 2016. After redshirting my true freshman season I transferred to Independence Community College and was part of the Netflix series "Last Chance U" season 3. While at Independence I was a starter on a team that went on to win the 2017 KJCAA Conference Championship.

After this season, I was offered a scholarship and transferred to Tulsa University where I competed from 2018-2020. After graduating from Tulsa I transferred to Southern Illinois University Carbondale which was suppose to be my last season. However, during this time, Covid struck the world and allowed college athletes to get an extra year of eligibility. When Covid hit, so did injury not long after my arrival to SIU and I was sidelined for five months while recovering from a torn tricep tendon. The fall season was pushed back to the spring due to Covid, and I was able to make a return in time for the spring season opener after only missing one game in the fall due to the season being pushed back. However, this season was cut short as well. I played and started in the first three games of the spring season, while capturing team defensive MVP in the upset win over #1 North Dakota State University. After having arguably the best game of my college career, I would go on to tear my quadriceps tendon in the first quarter of the next game against Youngstown State University effectively ending my career at SIU. The torn quadriceps tendon would cause me to miss the next season as well and while recovering I was a passenger in a serious car accident. This caused numerous injuries and delayed the healing process even longer. After over a year and a half of physical therapy and training since the quadriceps Injury, I was able to apply for an additional year of eligibility which I was granted and played at Saginaw Valley State University.

My time away from the game of football really taught me a lot about life and how to respond to various situations, which in turn has made me a even more driven and determined individual. I was able to discover new passions I have in life and I put the same passion I had on the field into my clients and strive to push them to be the best version of themselves everyday. That is my why... being able to have an impact on the lives of others in a positive way is just as rewarding as winning a championship in football. I strive to be a champion everyday at life and hope to have a lasting impact on those I cross paths with.
